Summer STEM Academy at NOVA

High school juniors and seniors are invited to apply for a weeklong summer STEM academy at Northern Virginia Community College. Selected students will unravel a forensics mystery by conducting various STEM experiments in a college setting.

The summer STEM academy will be held at NOVA’s Manassas Campus during the week of June 20 and at NOVA’s Alexandria, Annandale, Loudoun and Woodbridge campuses during the week of June 27.

The $30 registration fee covers all activities and lunch each day. Seats are limited and interested candidates must apply by April 30 at http://kajacomo.wix.com/ncsi-stem-academy.

Selected candidates will be notified by May 10.

Students who attend the academy will be eligible to apply for two $500 scholarships to enroll in a college science course during NOVA’s spring 2017 semester.

The STEM academy is sponsored by NOVA’s College-wide STEM Initiative and funded by a Perkins grant. For more information, contact Academy director Ia Gomez at igomez@nvcc.edu.
