With the pandemic and the on-the-go lifestyle that seems to dominate this area lately, food trucks supplied the treats at the Taste of Springfield

The car show was a hit at the Taste of Springfield this year.

Festival on Saturday, June 5.

“People like the variety of food trucks,” said Kirsten Crofford, Marketing Director at Springfield Town Center.

In addition to the trucks, there was between 30-40 cars at the car show, clowns, balloons, two bands and “local businesses as well,” said Crofford, who has been at the town center since the fall, but with the pandemic, things have been different then in year’s past. Temperatures on Saturday got up near 90 degrees, but that didn’t stop the festival. Local vendors include Two Smooth Dudes Food Truck, Uncle Fred’s BBQ, Sit Means Sit Dog Training and others.

It was the first event of the year at the town center, but they had the carnival last week, and are planning a black businesses festival towards the end of summer so they’re hoping to get back to the way things used to be at the town center.
